Yes! You can make lattes, latte macchiatos, macchiatos, and all milk recipes with your Pixie, but you’ll need to buy an Aeroccino 3 or Aeroccino 4 separately. If you buy the whole Pixie bundle from Amazon, you’ll get a Nespresso milk frother, so you can mix espresso and frothed milk to make a delicious latte. I did a lot of research before buying the machine and decided. When I read the reviews, all the positive reviews were for the Pixie; I figured it would suit my needs as I am an espresso lover.
I chose the Pixie machine because it uses OriginalLine Nespresso pods, which are less expensive than the VertuøLine pods. And this machine can also use third-party capsules that are far cheaper than the Vertuo line. In addition, all Nespresso pods are recyclable.
I was so happy because Nespresso Pixie’s creamy foam is thick and delicious. You can order a prepaid postal plastic bag from the Nespresso website like I did to send your used aluminum pods back to the recycling plant. You can watch this video on the Nespresso website explaining the recycling process. Some eco-lovers who love coffee might not buy Keurig coffee makers because their pods are plastic and not recyclable. My message to coffee lovers is not to turn away from Keurig coffee makers because, like Nespresso, Keurig is also focusing on recycling its K-cup pods.
Nespresso Pixie is a good espresso machine with a small and slim footprint, and it can easily fit on any kitchen countertop, dorm room, or workspace. Also, it is lightweight (6.6 lbs), so you can quickly move it from one place to another or even carry it while traveling. However, the capsule compartment of Pixie is open and closed by a lever and occupies space, so make sure that there is no object near the Pixie placement.
Pixie has a removable plastic water tank with a capacity of 24 oz, so you don’t have to fill it again and again, and it allows you to brew 6 lungo cups and 17 espresso shots with that capacity. However, Pixie’s water tank lacks a filter, and algae can grow at its bottom. Also, you will be unable to find that capacity in any other compact little machine.
The Nespresso Pixie works well with Nespresso OriginalLine pods and third-party Nespresso pods, either regular or reusable. Reusable pods allow you to fill them with your desired coffee grounds to get the desired taste. Remember that it is not compatible with Nespresso VertuoLine capsules.

Although it lacks many advanced features, it is best for those who want excellent espresso in the morning, have less space in the kitchen, and want a machine with a sleek design for their modern kitchen. The Nespresso Pixie has an auto-off feature of 9 minutes, meaning it automatically shut-off after 9 minutes of inactivity and saves your electricity. You can customize the auto-off feature for up to 30 minutes according to your usage and preference. It also has a programmable shot volume, you can adjust it from 1.35 oz to 3.70 oz, and this information will be stored for future use. It has a foldable drip tray allowing you to brew either in an espresso cup or 5.5″ tall mugs.
This OriginalLine Nespresso machine is easy to use as it has a simple design and 3 buttons for operation; one on/off button, one espresso button, and one lungo button. It offers a simple and fast brewing process as you have to insert your desired capsule, press a single or double brew size button, the machine will deliver your desired tasty espresso shot within 25 seconds, and the used capsules will automatically dispense into a capsule container having a capacity of 10 spent capsules.
The Nespresso Pixie offers quick and straightforward cleaning as its exterior is regularly cleaned with a damp cloth. The removable drip tray, water tank, and capsule compartment are rinsed with hot soapy water.
