Here is our honest review about one of the lavish Nespresso Original pods, i.e. Nespresso Il Caffè.
Il Caffè Original capsule is a unique blend of intense Vietnamese and Indonesian washed Robusta and Arabica coffees, with a little more addition of Colombian Arabica coffee makes it more palatable. The velvety flavor and the aroma of roasted, grain-flavored Il Caffè is a perfect expression of the coffee in the style of classic Italian espresso. The first few sips felt like we had passed a soft drink down our throats when we tasted this coffee. But the bitter aftertaste also impressed us that we were forced to take another cup.
With a smooth, thick, and velvety texture, Nespresso Il Caffè hits your palate with rich roasted cereal and cocoa notes. The caramel and chocolatey aroma hinted at Vietnamese, Indonesian Robustas, and Colombian Arabicas beans. These beans’ dark and long roasting deliver strong and intense coffee. Each sip gave carbony, briny, nutty, and woody notes, and we drank the whole cup in no time. You will feel the thick, velvety crema for the first few sips, but as the crema diminishes, a spicy, peppery bitterness will prevail over the taste. The Il Caffè has a full character like the classic Italian coffee, and its long-lasting taste will force you to take one cup after another. However, its long-lasting taste will always be remembered by you.
We focused on 10 major attributes of OriginalLine Nespresso Il Caffè. These features help us to identify how Vietnamese originated Il Caffè is different from all other Nespresso pods of various origins. These features and drink quality also help us to understand whether we take this bold espresso shot in the morning, evening, summer, or winter. Let’s have a complete insight into these features.
Nespresso Il Caffe is a blend of dark roasted Vietnamese, Indonesian Robustas, and Colombian Arabica beans. This blend delivers strong, bold, and full-bodied espresso shots and reminds you of a classic Italian coffee.
In Nespresso Il Caffe, the Robusta beans are dark roasted, and Arabica beans are roasted for a longer time. This unique blend delivers short but intense espresso shots with a velvety crema, rich roasted cereal and cocoa aromas, and woody and nutty notes.
The woody and malty cereal aroma soothed my mind when I brewed the Il Caffe drink. I forgot all my worries and indulged myself in its rich roasted cocoa scent. I smelled it again and again. Its thick and velvety crema sat luxuriously on my tongue, the chocolatey and nutty notes hit my palate, and I found relief for a few moments.
Acidity adds dimension and brightness to the coffee, but in Il Caffe drink, you barely find acidity. Its acidity is masked by pepper, hazelnuts, toasted cereals and the bitter cocoa flavor of Robusta beans.
Each drink has a unique level of bitterness in it, and you can easily decide whether it has caramel, fresh fruit or honey-like sweetness. The Il Caffe has a high level of bitterness due to dark, long roasting, and high caffeine content. It delivers intense, strong, full-bodied coffee with carbony, woody, and rich roasted cocoa notes.
When you drink coffee, you can easily detect whether it is light (like skim milk ) or heavy (like whipped cream). The body is the weight of the drink you feel on your tongue. When I took a sip of full-bodied Il Caffè coffee, its thick, velvety crema and smooth texture sat luxuriously on my tongue. I drank the whole cup in no time and did not feel it heavy.
Nespresso pods always fulfill your caffeine needs. Its one capsule contains about 80 mg of caffeine and is enough for one standard coffee cup. Il Caffe is an OriginalLine capsule with more caffeine than other regular Nespresso pods. When we measured it in our lab, we found 129 mg of caffeine in this sumptuous Nespresso pod.
When I took my first sip after brewing Il Caffe, the malted cereal and intense aroma soothed my nose and woody, and nutty notes hit my palate. In another sip, I felt a strong chocolatey flavor like Nutella crepe. Each sip gave me caramel, pepper, and hazelnut notes, and I felt I was drinking a bouquet of various coffees. I enjoyed this bold Il Caffe coffee cup.
Intensity determines the level of acidity and bitterness in your drink. More bitterness means more intensity. Nespresso Il Caffè has high intensity due to its high caffeine content and dark roasting of Robusta and Arabica beans. It is best for those espresso lovers who don’t compromise on taste and quality. The intense blend delivers dark and intense espresso shots with thick, velvety crema. It also delivers rich cocoa, roasted cereal aroma, nutty, caramel, and woody notes.
When I finished my Il Caffè coffee, I felt a spicy, peppery bitterness, but soon its bitterness was balanced with a sweet chocolatey note. The drink was smooth and lingering. Its woody and rich roasted cereal aroma and nutty, carbony and briny notes are still preserved in my mind. Il Caffè is a lavish Nespresso capsule that forces you to demand cup after cup, and each time it will never disappoint you.
Nespresso Il Caffè is an OriginalLine pod only brewed with Nespresso OriginalLine machines. OriginalLine machines offer three brew sizes.
Nespresso Il Caffè delivers a 0.85 oz ristretto and 1.35 oz balanced espresso shot. We also brewed other lungo shots with it, but we only got a watery drink. So, it is better to brew ristretto or espresso with Original Il Caffè.
We found that the Nespresso pod coffee machine is an affordable brewing system compared to regular visits to coffee shops that are expensive and time-consuming. Although you cannot estimate how much you can save by staying and brewing at home. If a person spends $4 at a local coffee house, but if he buys Keurig or Nespresso capsules, how much money he will save is shown in the table below.
