My Rio pod had a shiny green color and a beautiful leafy design. It was an OriginalLine pod, so I brewed it with my Lattissima Pro machine. My shot had an intense roasted and herbal aroma. When I took a sip, I found it bold, tasting the intensity of 9. The strong woody and herbal notes of thyme and rosemary were coming through. The subtle walnut notes surprised me, making it a bit nutty. Overall, it was a dark and intense shot.
In the next shot, I poured the Rio coffee over the ice cubes and added a dash of milk. I tasted it, and rich walnut notes hit my palate; however, it remained intense. It was a pleasant cup.
Nespresso Rio de Janeiro is a perfect blend for summer breakfast. Pair your Rio coffee with biscotti, chocolate croissant, or other sweet food to balance its intense profile.
These Nespresso capsules brew 1.35 oz espresso shots and are compatible with only OriginalLine espresso machines.
