Nespresso has two coffee buttons. The button on the left side makes an Espresso shot, and that is the Espresso button (40 ml), and the one on the right side is the Lungo button making the Lungo shot (110 ml). However, you can also program the water volume of the machine to make it brew other espresso drinks such as Ristretto, Doppio, A large coffee cup, etc.
Nespresso is versatile in making different volumes of coffee. The default setting of the machine allows it to make only two sizes of coffee one is Lungo which is 110 ml or 3.72 ounces, and Espresso which is 40 ml or 1.35 ounces. However, you can also program the water volume to brew size coffee according to your desires.
Nespresso has built-in programming, which allows it to brew exactly 40 ml for the Espresso shot and 110 ml for the Lungo shot. You can also induce your desired volume coffee size by programming the water volume.
For the Espresso and Lungo shots, yes, Nespresso automatically size them, but when it comes to other size coffees, initially, you have to program the machine’s water volume; then, next time, you only have to press the button upon which you have to induce the different settings and machine will automatically brew you the set coffee size shot.
