Nespresso Essenza Mini is an espresso machine, so it will not give you regular coffee; however, it gives you Lungo besides Espresso, and you can also program the machine to serve you Ristretto, A Large cup of coffee, and Doppio.
Both are not quite the same. A double Espresso shot, also known as Doppio, is different from Lungo. Lungo is 110 ml or 3.72, while a double shot of Espresso is 60 ml. Lungo is also called a long shot of Espresso, but as it has a thinner consistency and more volume, it is called Lungo. Espresso is thicker and has volume, and it is better to drink Espresso right away when it’s made; otherwise, it becomes less tasty, and smoothness will no longer be there.
The two shots of Espresso are called Doppio. It is 60 ml or 2.03 ounces in volume. Doppio has the same water-to-caffeine ratio as Espresso, but the water concentration is more than the Espresso. The caffeine-to-water ratio in Doppio is 1:2.
A Lungo shot is 110 ml, while an Espresso shot is 40 ml. They both differ in terms of volume and caffeine ratio. Lungo is thinner in concentration with more water to caffeine ratio of 3:1-4:1, while Espresso is thicker in concentration with less water to caffeine ratio of 2:1.
