Solution: Unclog The Needles

To unclog the needles follow the below instructions;

If you see coffee grounds in your coffee, then it is due to partial coffee brewing. Let’s see how you can fix it.

Problem 02: Keurig K-Supreme Plus Not Brewing At All

Coffee can only be relished when your brewer is working. If the brewer fails to fulfill your coffee desires, then what’s the purpose it left with anymore? So that’s why it is necessary to fix the problem of “Coffee maker not brewing at all.” But first, let’s see its cause.

Cause 01: Requires Resetting

The main reason your Keurig K-Supreme Plus is not brewing at all could be due to its need for resetting.

Solution: Resetting Your Coffee Maker

It’s time to reset your machine after it declines to serve you coffee. Follow the below steps.

Instructions:

  1. Press any button on your Keurig to wake it up.
  2. Now, simultaneously press and hold the two “arrow buttons” (left and right) to enter the menu mode.
  3. Click “Next” on the screen.
  4. Now, click “advance” and search for the “Factory reset option”.
  5. Select the factory reset option.
  6. Press the “K” button to confirm.
  7. Your Keurig will start resetting all the settings.
  8. Once done with resetting, a prompt will appear on the screen, i.e., unplug the brewer for 10 seconds and then re-plug it.

Cause 02: Parts Not Placed Correctly

As the Keurig machine’s parts work collectively to produce fine coffee thus, if one part is not placed correctly, it can cause an inability to brew coffee.

Solution: Reposition The Machine’s Parts

  1. You should remove the water tank and place it back correctly onto the machine.
  2. Correctly place the right size reusable K-cup in the K-cup pod holder.

Cause 03: Low Water Level

If the water level is low to such an extent that one coffee mug can’t be brewed, then that is the reason your brewer is not working or brewing.

Solution: Check & Fill The Water Tank

You should check if there is an adequate amount of water in the water tank or not. If the water volume is low, then you should fill it up to the maximum level.

Cause 04: Use Of Heavy Water

After the above solutions, your machine won’t brew, then you should descale your machine as the use of heavy water can make calcium/magnesium deposits, thus blocking the path for water or coffee to flow.

Solution: Descale

If the above solution won’t work, then it’s time for you to descale your machine. To know how to descale, you can check out “Descaling instructions” under “Problem 1(Cause 2)”.

Video Link: Descale Keurig K-Supreme Plus

Cause 05: Air Bubbles

Air bubbles can trap in the machine’s internal lining due to over-the-time removal and placement back of the tank; It can hinder the coffee flow partially or completely. It’s a very common cause for making your machine not brew.

Solution: Remove Air Bubbles

To remove the air bubbles, follow the instructions below.

  1. Turn OFF the machine.
  2. Disconnect the plug.
  3. Give a few shakes to the machine.
  4. It will remove the trapped air bubbles.

Cause 06: The Machine Is Not Ready

If you don’t let your machine to ready and heat up first, then there are chances that the brewing will not happen, and even if it did, the process could stop mid-way because the water was not hot enough to saturate the coffee grounds nicely.

Solution: Wait For The Machine To Ready

You should always give some time to your machine so that it can heat up the water for the coffee brewing process.

Problem 03: Keurig K-Supreme Plus Is Brewing A Partial Cup

If your brewer is not brewing to its full extent, then it is just a waste of energy and coffee capsules, and the mood spoilage is constant damage. To avoid it, let’s see the cause and solution.

Cause 01: Water Tank Is Not Placed Correctly

Incorrect placement of the water tank can cause the brewer to brew a partial cup instead of a full cup of coffee.

Solution: Correct Placement Of The Water Tank

Remove the tank from the machine and place it back correctly on the machine, and if the water level is low, then fill the tank to the max. Level.

Cause 02: Buildups Formation

Buildups such as coffee or minerals from hard water (calcium or magnesium) have been formed inside the machine leading to partial coffee volume.

Solution: Clean Up Your Machine

When a less volume of coffee is brewing, then your machine requests you to clean it. Descaling is the best solution to remove the internal buildups and clean your machine nicely and thoroughly. To know the descaling procedure, check “Descaling Instructions” under “Problem 1 (Cause 2)”.

Cause 03: Clogged Needles

Clogging in the needles due to grinds buildups which cause brewing of only partial coffee cup instead of full one.

Solution: Unclog The Clogged Needles

To unclog the needles, you can check out the Process of “Uncloging the Needles” under “Problem 1 (Cause 1)”.

Problem 04: Keurig K-Supreme Plus Does Not Power Or Shuts Off

If you are trying to shut off your brewer by pressing and holding the K button, but all effort is in vain, then this could be dangerous. Let’s see how you can avoid this dangerous problem.

Cause 01: Continuous Prolong Use

If your machine is being used for quite a time without any break, then it can make the machine stuck or fails to follow commands.

Solution: Give The Machine Some Rest

  1. If the brewer is not turning OFF, then unplug the cord and let the machine rest for about an hour.
  2. Then plug the machine cord back into the mains.

Solution 02: Contact Keurig

If the issue remains, then you should contact the Keurig Customer Care team. To know how to contact them, check out When to Seek Profession Help section below.

Problem 05: Keurig K-Supreme Plus Is Not Turning On Or Responding To Commands.

As I own a Keurig K-Supreme Plus model and personally faced this issue just like many others out there have faced. Let’s see how I was able to turn ON my machine.

Cause 01: Unsteady Current Or Voltage

If the voltage/current supply is discontinuous, it can make the machine not work properly and can even lead to turning the machine OFF to prevent any damage.

Solution: Check The Mains

Sometimes small things can cause panic when left unattended. You should always check the mains and turn them ON before using the machine.

Cause: Needs Resetting

The reason your machine is not responding to commands means that your machine requires resetting.

Solution: Reset Your Machine

Another solution you can try is resetting your machine. To know the resetting procedure, you can check “Reset your machine process” under the solution of “Problem 2 (Cause 01)”.

Problem 06: Keurig K-Supreme Plus Is Displaying Error Messages

Keurig can encounter errors throughout its working life. These errors can be a great source to find out what’s the problem with the machine and how you can fix it.

Condition 01: Error Code 2

When Keurig K-Supreme Plus encounters a gap between 2 consecutive brew cycles and requires some time to heat up, then this is Error message code 2.

Solution:

  1. To solve error message code 2, unplug the coffee maker’s cord and let it rest for a few minutes, then plug it back.

Condition 02: Error Code 8

Deviation in the current supply due to any disturbance in the external power source can cause Error message code 8

Solution:

  1. To solve error message code 8, unplug the Keurig K-Supreme Plus coffee maker’s cord and plug it in again after 2 minutes.

Condition 03: Error Code 11

If the water volume is low to complete a brew cycle, then this gives rise to Error message code 11.

Solution:

To solve error message code 11, fill the water tank with fresh drinking water to the max fill level.

Condition 04: Error Code 17

Error message code 17 occurs when there is overpressure in the brewer.

Solution:

To solve error message code 17, open the K-pod compartment, remove the pod, and close the lid to release the pressure.

Problem 07: Keurig K-Supreme Plus Is Leaking Or Spilling Water

Leakage in the Keurig machines, including Keurig K-Supreme Plus, is not a good sign, and the faster it is fixed, the better. Here are the root cause and solution for leakage.

Cause 01: The Clogged Valve Of The Water Tank Base

If the valve of the water tank base is clogged, leakage can occur, so it’s better to fix it soon.

Solution: Unclog Tank Base

To unclog the clogged tank base valve.

  1. Remove the water tank
  2. Turn the machine upside down and tap the tank base gently.
  3. Shake the machine lightly up and down.

Cause 02: Incorrect Cup Sizes

If you are using incorrect cup sizes, then there is a probability that your machine is leaking because of it.

Solution: Use Keurig Recommend Pods.

You should always use the pods recommended by Keurig, and it recommends using Keurig K-cup pods as they fit perfectly in the Keurig machines.

Cause 03: Damaged Water Tank

If you are facing leaking, then you should check the water tank as well. Damaged water or cracks in the water tank can be a source of leakage.

Solution: Change The Water Tank

You should change the broke water tank with the new water tank. You can get Keurig K-Supreme Plus water tanks from online stores such as Amazon, eBay, etc.

Problem 08: Keurig K-Supreme Plus Is Producing Weaker Coffee Than Usual

Coffee is known for its intense taste and aroma, and if your coffee maker fails to produce this, then it’s mainly failing its duty. Thus it’s better to fix it or go for the new one. But here, I would help you in fixing your brewer rather than telling you to buy a new one which would be costly. So let’s see the root cause and know how to fix the issue.

Cause 01: Using Wrong K-Cup Flavor

The type of K-cup Flavor you are using can affect the taste. Some K-cups are manufactured to give a less intense taste, and some are designed for intense flavor. You should always check what kind of flavored coffee K-pods you are buying. The more you use water in your coffee, the less intense the flavor becomes.

Solution: Use Strong Coffee Flavors

You should use strong coffee flavor pods for an intense coffee taste rather than using light coffee pods.

Cause 02: Clogged Needles & Buildups

Clogged needles could be the source of the unusual coffee taste or bad coffee taste with less intensity. It’s good to either descale your machine or to clean the clogged needles.

Solution: Descaling

You should also descale your machine to internally clean the machines by removing buildups and dirt or to unclog the partially clogged internal pipes that can not only affect the coffee taste but also reduce the coffee volume. To know how to descale your brewer, you can check “Descale your machine process” under the solution of “Problem 01 (Cause 02)”.

Problem 09: Keurig K-Supreme Plus Making Loud Or Unusual Noises During Operation

Unusual noises are a sign of something wrong, and the sooner you know and fix the issue, the better. You should know why it is doing so by reading the causes below.

Cause 01: Material On Which You Have Placed Your Machine

The material on which you have placed your Keurig could be the reason for the loud noises.

Solution: Replace The Material Upon Which You Have Placed Your Machine

You can place a soft rubber plate, wood piece, styrofoam, or soft mouse pad under the machine to lower the loud noises.

Cause 02: Clogged Machine

Clogging in the machine can be the reason you hear the unusual sound. The clogging can occur due to the use of hard water or using the machine for a long time without descaling/cleaning it (as prolonged usage can lead to coffee grounds build-ups, leading to clogging in the line).

Solution: Unclog The Machine

You should unclog the needles using the paper clip and descale the machine for finer cleaning. To know how to descale your brewer, you can check Problem 01, Cause 02’s Solution. To know how you can unclog the needles using paperclips, you can check Unclog the Neddels process under the solution of “Problem 01 (Cause 01)”.

Cause 03: Broken Machine

A broken machine usually gives the most unusual sound, and it’s better to let your machine be checked.

Solution: Contact Keurig

It’s better to let your machine be checked by a technician, or you can contact Keurig Service Center. To know how to contact them, check out the “When to Seek Profession Help section” below.

Problem 10: Why Is Keurig K-Supreme Plus Not Producing Hot Coffee?

Hot or cold coffee is more likely to be loved, and the in-between temperature could be called late and mood-spoiling coffee. If your Keurig K-Supreme Plus is not brewing hot coffee, then there is how you can fix it.

Cause 01: Damaged Thermostat

The thermostat is the major factor of the machine that regulates the temperature of your coffee. If it is damaged, then your coffee will not get hot enough.

Solution: Change The Thermostat

You should call for help from a technician in fixing the thermostat so that the coffee comes out Hot. Or it’s better to Contact Keurig.

Video Link: Reset Thermostat

Cause 02: Heat Absorb By Mug/Cup

Dispensing in the type of mug/cup you are using, the coffee temperature can fluctuate. Some mug/cup materials, such as glass or metals, tend to absorb much heat resulting in decreasing your coffee temperature.

Solution: Pre-Heating Cup

You should preheat the cup by adding warm water to the cup and wait for a few minutes, and then discard it to get a hot coffee shot before letting the coffee drip into the cup; it will keep the coffee hot and not let it get cold faster.

Problem 11: Keurig K-Supreme Plus Is Experiencing Clogs In The Needles.

Clogging needles are the source of many issues in the machine, so you should specifically care for the needles. If your machine’s needles are clogged, then here’s how you can fix it.

Cause 01: No Needle Cleaning

Puncturing the K-cups for a long period of time causes Coffee grounds buildups in the puncturing needles leading to clogging.

Solution: Unclog The Needles

You should unclog the needle, as needles are an important part of the Keurig coffee maker. To know to unclog it, see Problem 1, Cause 01’s Solution.

Cause 02: No Cleaning/Descaling

Continuous use over time without cleaning and descaling can lead to clogged Needles

Solution: Descaling

You should descale your machine to remove buildups and dirt from the clogged puncturing needles. To know how to descale your brewer, you can check Descale your machine process under the solution of “Problem 1 (Cause 02)”.
